I spent last night in Taymen's room to keep Tiberius company; he seemed pleased and purred loudly curled up close to me and Zephyr. I still don't have any further news to share on the Taymen front; I'm assuming everything is going all right.

I finally got to the library yesterday and picked up my Interlibrary Loan Book, a ghastly thing by Dead Manion from 1950 or so called The Key to Peace. I'm reading it, but it appears to be the work of a madman. Here's a sample (selected literally at random):

Like everything else on earth Government is the servant of Almighty God. Blind worship of the servant while the master is ignored is a fatal corruption of both servant and worshipper. Without the supporting sanction of morality no act of government is any stronger than the physical force behind it. In such a situation "might" becomes the sole measure of "right". What gives value, point, permanence and universality to such things as "justice," "human rights," "human liberty," "law" and "order"

is the ultimate eternal life of each man as conceived by God at the time of creation.

No combination of all the purely material forces on earth can completely and adequately protect your normal and natural "pursuit of happiness." To sustain that pursuit, and all that it implies, "religion and morality are indispensable."

And so on and so forth. Meaningless jibber-jabber. He seems to be setting forth a weak form of the "Christian Nation" ideology, without the key point, that the Founders explicitly intended Christianity to be the official religion of the United States.

It's liberally larded with fake or dubious quotations, but nowhere near the extent that modern CN works are.

I also checked out some other books, but I haven't really had an opportunity to look at them yet, so no comments, probably.
