Misty Saturday

Hi All--

No walk this a.m., because it is Saturday and we take that day off ...it was a walkable morning, no rain falling, just mist enough to soak your coat before you get half a block. Two very interesting movies I have recently seen are the Moroccan-made films, "The Story of the Weeping Camel," and "The Cave of the Yellow Dog." The plots are simple to non-existent, but the settings and acting styles, and the actors themselves are all special. Very UN-Hollywood or BBC-- just intensely interesting. In case you are looking for recommendations.

This evening I am going to the 75th birthday-party-potluck and potlatch of a member of my writer group. Dorothy BlackCrow Mack-- she has ties to the Lakota Sioux and is therefore holding a somewhat traditional gathering-- she does the gift giving and her guests bring the food. I'm in the midst of making a dish for that, and will be gone most of the evening after 5:00 if anyone needs to call. Probably around 1:00 to 2:00 in the afternoon would be a good time to catch me still here and through with getting stuff ready ...
